What is the best supplement to take?

Let me preface this that these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not meant to treat or diagnose any disease, however they are backed by a wealth of experience in the natural foods industry and dealing with thousands of return customers over the years.  This to replace the super fast talk about possible serious side effects, including suicide or death regularly heard in any pharmaceutical drug tv or radio commercial. Side effects from the products recommended here may include feeling healthy, great and balanced, as well as general well-being!

With over 20 years of experience working behind the counter at a natural foods store, people often ask me “What should I take?” Though it certainly depends on what you wish to treat, customers want to know “What is one product that everyone should take daily, no matter what?” Welcome to the Health Food Store Girl Blog!

I look at the years of selling herbs, vitamins, teas, sports nutrition, and some of the standouts are Omega-3 oils, Green foods such as Spirulina and Algae, Saw Palmetto for men, Maca, Rhodiola and Ashwaganda for hormones and stress, B vitamins of course for headaches and nerve support, to be discussed in future blogs, but the winner is undoubtedly Turmeric root, or curcumin, which is an active ingredient in Turmeric extract. I would like to speak to the properties of Turmeric, commonly known as an Indian spice of vibrant orange-yellow color. Turmeric is primarily an anti-inflammatory herb. Since all disease begins with inflammation, this supplement is an excellent preventative treatment for such conditions as arthritis and cancer, as well as any type of inflammatory digestive and skin disorders, therefore recommended for everyone. Turmeric is an excellent healing herb for trauma and recovery. As for brand choices, I recommend that you look for a quality reputable brand with 400-600 mg of standardized extract of Turmeric (Curcumin).  It should not be taken on empty stomach. Terry Naturally puts out a quality turmeric supplement called Curamin (for acute use) and Curamed (for daily use). We get great return customers with this product. Fresh Turmeric root is wonderful in a juice or a shot, activated by fresh juiced ginger and lemon for best results.

Most importantly, take this and any supplement by first taking a deep breath with your nose and by setting intention of rapid healing, recovery, and complete health. Using a health mantra as part of your meditation routine, or by itself whenever you think of it, will do wonders for your health.
